SUBMISSION CATEGORIES:

THREE-DIMENSIONAL ARTWORK

Sculpture - This category includes three-dimensional artworks created primarily for visual, conceptual, or expressive purposes rather than practical use. Works may be representational or abstract and may be made from any material, including clay, metal, wood, fiber, mixed media, or found objects. Pieces in this category are non-functional and are intended to be viewed as sculptural forms rather than used. Clay works that do not serve a utilitarian purpose should be entered here.

Pottery - This category includes three-dimensional works made primarily from clay that are designed for functional or utilitarian use. Examples include, but are not limited to, vessels, bowls, mugs, plates, vases, teapots, and other wares intended to hold, contain, or serve a practical purpose. Surface decoration, form, and artistic expression are important elements, but the defining characteristic of this category is functionality.

TWO-DIMENSIONAL MIXED MEDIA & MISCELLANEOUS ARTWORK

This category includes two-dimensional artworks that do not fall exclusively within the categories of painting, drawing, photography, or three-dimensional sculpture/pottery. Mixed media works may combine two or more materials or processes—such as collage, printmaking, fiber, digital elements, assemblage, or found materials—on a flat surface. Miscellaneous works in this category may use unconventional techniques or materials but remain primarily two-dimensional. All works should be intended for wall display or flat presentation.

PAINTING

This category includes two-dimensional artworks created primarily with oil or acrylic paint. Works may be representational or abstract and may be executed on canvas, panel, paper, or other suitable surfaces. The defining characteristic of this category is the dominant use of oil or acrylic paint as the primary medium.

WATER MEDIA

This category includes two-dimensional artworks created primarily using water-based media, such as watercolor, ink wash, or gouache. Works may be representational or abstract and may incorporate controlled or fluid techniques. The defining characteristic of this category is the dominant use of water-soluble media.

DRAWING

This category includes two-dimensional artworks created primarily through dry and linear drawing media, including charcoal, ink, graphite, colored pencil, chalk pastel, or oil pastel. Works may be representational or abstract and may emphasize line, value, texture, or mark-making. The defining characteristic of this category is the dominant use of traditional drawing materials.

PHOTOGRAPHY

The photography category celebrates the visual stories, textures, and character of our local community. This category invites photographers to capture the world around them with intention focusing on subiects that reflect the spirit of our region. The three themes /genres are as follows:

Local Landscapes - Works that highlight the geography and scenery that define our area.
